What you need in your cupboard

Here is a list to start stocking your pantry with

What you have in your cupboard changes, of course, according to the season. But with just the things listed here you can make absolutely stellar food. Zone everything in separate areas to make it easier for you to see and use them efficiently. Personally, I put it all out maybe four times a year, have a clean, and make sure I'm not missing anything hidden in the back.

SPICES

  • sea salt

  • ground black pepper

  • olive oil, extra virgin

  • coconut oil

  • vinegars : red wine, cider, balsamic

  • rice vinegar

  • Dijon mustard

  • ketchup

  • cumin

  • oregano, thym, rosemary

  • safran

  • paprika

  • turmeric

  • bay leaves

  • nutmeg

  • cinnamon

  • Za'atar

  • curry powder

  • soy sauce 

  • sesame oil

  • a small piece of ginger root

  • nuts, seeds and dry fruits

  • date syrup

  • coconut milk

 

BAKING SUPPLIES

  • flour

  • sugar

  • honey

  • brown sugar

  • vanilla

  • back chocolate for cooking

  • baking powder

  • baking soda

  • cornstarch

  • yeast

 

AND :

  • shallots  

  • onions

  • stock cubes (roasted chicken and beef flavor)

  • cloves

  • rice and quinoa

  • dried pasta

  • canned tomatoes

  • tahini

  • lemon

  • sardines in organic extra virgin oil
